Our After-School Program Themes
Every semester has a unique theme for each region
Using LEGO® bricks, kids build a different engineering-themed project in each class. They explore different engineering fields including mechanical, structural, aerospace, nautical, and bioengineering. They use critical thinking and creative problem-solving to test and improve their creations.
Space and Beyond!
This program includes our NASA and Mad Science collaboration to educate the next generation! Children go on a voyage of discovery with unique hands-on activities, and amazing demonstrations that explore the sun and stars, space technology, rocket science, the atmosphere, planets and moons, exoplanets and exobiology, and more!
Welcome to the world of chemistry! Children make gooey slime, experiment with different reactions and learn to use the tools that chemists use. Polymers and catalysts are only two of the fascinating concepts young scientists explore in this thrilling trip through the chemistry lab!
Secret Agent Lab
Develop your special agent and detective skill in this super hands-on program! Uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Sharpen your secret agent skills and discover how chemistry and the science of forensics can come to the aid of a secret agent. Identify and collect evidence – from fingerprints to tracks to trash! Use science and technology for investigation & sleuthing.
Kids will overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important of all- their mind. With a bit of ingenuity, children will create catapults and forts, construct working light sticks to take home, and assemble a set of circuits. Thomas Edison said, "invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration" but Eureka! is 100% fun!
A hands-on exploration of sights, sounds, nature and more! Optical illusions, the secret components of white light and hidden rainbows, and movies explore our sense of sight. Other senses, such as taste and hearing are investigated too. Explore cells with a microscope, investigate bugs, why nutrition is so important and how ecosystems work. Explore heat, volcanoes, earthquakes and even weather!
Energy, Forces, Flight & Robots
Explore inertia, gravity and centripetal force with race cars and spinning bike wheels, ping-pong balls, and rubber band powered catapults. Learn about tension and compression, which shapes are strongest, make an earthquake proof building from toothpicks and marshmallows. Learn about flight and build the coolest paper airplanes! We also experience different kinds of robots and build a robot hand!
